The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is an autonomous organization in India that conducts recruitment exams to fill various posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other government services. The most well-known exam conducted by UPSC is the Civil Services Examination (CSE), also known as the IAS exam, which is considered one of the most prestigious and competitive exams in India. The CSE is a three-stage exam consisting of the Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Interview. Candidates who clear the CSE are eligible for various posts such as IAS, IPS, IFS and other services. Other exams conducted by UPSC are Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, National Defence Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination and many more.
